COVID-19 POLICY RESEARCH SERIES

East Asia, COVID-19, and the Post-Corona World

In late March 2020 the Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies inaugurated a new COVID-19 Policy Research Task Force. The Center has also started an “East Asia, COVID-19, and the Post-Corona World” multi-media series, in cooperation with colleagues across Johns Hopkins University. This new series involves webinars, podcasts, and periodic policy reports.

The COVID-19 Crisis: Policy Lessons from East Asia”, presented here, is the first of our multi-media presentations. It will be followed soon by a webinar discussing the report, and the relevance of innovative East Asian practices regarding such issues as COVID-19 testing; digital contact tracing; and medical supply and infrastructure capacity to the pressing issues now confronting the United States and many European nations.

We hope that you will find this new Reischauer Center initiative meaningful in this hour of crisis, and look forward to the reactions of alumni and friends around the world.

Sincerely,

Kent Calder
